About

Shelby leans against an outcropping of red rocks. She's wearing jeans, a black sweater, and black books. There's snow on the ground and pine trees in the background.

WHO I AM

I’m a writer, thinker, and theorist. I explore the connections between science and culture, especially how we tell stories about climate change in a variety of mediums. My scholarly writing has been published in several academic journals and online platforms.

Currently I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Public Philosophy Journal at Michigan State University. I received my PhD in April 2021 from the University of Pittsburgh Department of Theatre Arts.

As an editor, I draw on my experience as a writer to help others develop their ideas. I work with academics of all levels achieve their writing goals, whether that includes developmental editing for structure and organization, catching typos, or formatting to a particular publication’s specifications.

I’m currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
