About Me

Shelby leans against an outcropping of red rocks. She's wearing jeans, a black sweater, and black books. There's snow on the ground and pine trees in the background.

WHO I AM

I’m a writer, thinker, and theorist. I explore the connections between science and culture, especially how we tell stories about climate change in a variety of mediums. I am currently completing my dissertation as Cultural Studies Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Theatre Arts. My scholarly writing has been published in several academic journals and online platforms.

As an editor, I draw on my experience as a writer to help others develop their ideas. I work with academics of all levels achieve their writing goals, whether that includes developmental editing for structure and organization, catching typos, or formatting to a particular publication’s specifications.

I’m currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
